Midnight Special is a musical biopic that explores the remarkable life of blues legend Huddie Ledbetter and the father and son team of Harvard educated musicologists who discovered him. It is a story of unlikely friendship in a daunting time, a story of loyalty and betrayal, racism and classicism, broken boundaries and dreams. It is ultimately a story of why blues music is American at it’s most raw and complicated.
